Joey Sciacca Needs Our Prayers
Friday, October 23, 2009

C.A.R.S. Racing for a Cause Inc.

Orlando FL. 10-23-09 - Joey Sciacca, 2 years old, and one of the children we are helping with the Charity Truckers 200 Weekend, FFH Concert and Golf Tournament is in need of our prayers. In an e-mail from his Mom, today I was informed they are in St. Pete beginning a bone marrow transplant for his stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. This will most likely keep Joey and his parents in the hospital for up to two months. He has a huge battle ahead of him, and the parents obviously have much to worry over right now. I am asking all of you who know the Lord, please pray that this transplant works. It will take up to 6 months for him to heal and be able to know how it worked.

We are asking God for another Miracle for Joey, and for peace for the family. This will make it impossible for Joey to be with us, as he first may still be in the hospital but also his immune system will be gone for a while, and the chance of serious sickness makes it too dangerous for him to attend the events. The Father will be coming to be with us as Mom said she will not leave his side, and I can certainly understand that.

Please help us raise funds that will help this family with Medical Bills, out of work expenses etc. Go to www.carsevents.com or www.racermarketing.com for all the info. We hope to see you Thursday Night December 3rd at Orlando Baptist Church for the Charity Concert featuring FFH and guest Derek Janney. The December 4th & 5th is the 4th Annual Charity Truckers 200 weekend brought to you by Fountain Motorsports Driver Development and Biscayne Roofing !

Charity Truckers 200 Draws Closer
Tuesday, October 13, 2009

The Charity Truckers 200 weekend presented by Fountain Motorsports Driver Development is drawing near. Things have progressed very well so far. We also have our 1st Annual Charity Concert Thursday Night December 3rd, the night before we begin racing. It will feature Contemporary Christian Group FFH with guest Derek Janney in concert at Orlando Baptist Church located at 500 South Semoran Blvd in Orlando.

You can get more info and order ticket for that at www.carsevents.com.

Projects to finish over the next 48 days is to finish the 4th Annual Souvenir Program, Sell all 200 Laps at $20 each, get trophies & plaques, get the families all set up with accommodations, assemble volunteer officials and workers, plan food for Friday night feeding and much more. If you can help by sponsoring laps it would be greatly appreciated as half of the money goes to the families. Pro-truck drivers please get your entries in as soon as possible remembering the parking Friday morning for the pits will be according to order entries are received and it also decides any duplicate numbers. All other drivers in any of the divisions competing please go to www.carsracermarketing.com and print out and send in a entry form ( no fees ) just send in the info so we can plan.

I want you to know how tough things are out there, I know it will be a sacrifice for many folks to be at the event. I just ask you to think if we have it rough, how much more do these families facing terminal illnesses, losing loved ones have it. WE can still make it happen if everyone just does something, what ever that is.

I always try to convey to all of you how much I appreciate your love and support over the years, I again want you to know how much I and these families appreciate it. May God bless you for your giving. Thank you and if you have any questions or concerns please call me at 407-497-0448.

Tommy Hopkins Update
Friday, June 12, 2009

Hi everyone.

It's been a while and I wanted to touch base with you. Tommy is doing great. He just celebrated his 12Th birthday on May 30Th. We were battling with a blood test called ACTH for over 2 years with it being over 1100. Last month when he was tested (of course, after a christian revival meeting!) it was 63 which is normal!!!

The chemotherapy did some damage to his pituitary gland so that he wasn't making growth hormone. That's why he is still so small for his age.

Dr. Miller started him on growth hormone injections last month. That was a horrific thing to start! They had originally given him an auto injector pen that held thirteen doses of the medicine. He is only to get 1mg a day and the pen was defective and gave him almost 8mg of the medicine! The bad thing was it could cause a drop in blood sugar followed by a high blood sugar and could cause swelling in the brain.

Once again, my God came through. He had NO side effects from the overdose. He now uses single dose needles that only hold the 1mg he is supposed to get. That way there are no chances for errors there! We just completed the third grade curriculum and are starting in the fourth. If we get to a diploma state great! If we don't, that's okay too. He wasn't supposed to be here according to this disease.

Slow and steady wins the race and trust me, I'm a turtle! I just needed to let all of you know how he is doing. You are all my family and I believe you love him as much as I do. I know he is a blessing in my life just as his brother Bobby (who by the way turned 16 on May 28Th!) is. Although this disease has taken a lot away from this family, it has also given a lot to this family.

It has given us a faith in Christ that we've never known. It has also given us strength to persevere against anything brought against us. If God is for us, who can be against us?

I hope this finds all of you doing well and gives you inspiration to face whatever lies ahead. You can overcome and you can finish standing tall. He is there to pick you up and hold you up. Just let him. We love all of you so much.

You are part of our family. Love and hugs to you all.

Shelly and Tommy Hopkins

C.A.R.S. Racing for a Cause Inc. new non-profit charitable foundation
Thursday, January 15, 2009

C.A.R.S. Motorsports & Racer Marketing

Orlando FL 1-15-09 - Owner and President Rick Bristol announced today that all is official and his dream of a non-profit charitable foundation has been realized. " I am just simply amazed at how God has brought this all together". "This will enable us to grow and help more people in the future". said Bristol.

Bristol a long time racer, official and fan began helping children's homes years ago and in 14 years he was able to raise nearly $75,000. After a brief interruption, while he figured out what to do next, he was led to the Charity Truckers 200 event which has become a staple of the racing community each December at Orlando Speedworld. To date in the three years it has raised a bit over $33,000 for 3 needing families, who's children has been battling life threatening diseases.

"I can only say that I am so blessed to be able to do this, it is an honor and a privilege and God has blessed it so much" added Bristol. " Because of so many wonderful friends, officials, racers and fans this thing is just growing all the time, it truly is wonderful".

Rick had formed a board of directors that include long time friends Butch Pierce (VP),
Barbara Pierce (Officer) ad Chad Pierce (Officer). Rick's wife Carla serves as treasurer. Rick plans to add a couple more to the board to help with financial stability and direction. Linda Dannis a friend from Texas with Dannis & Dannis Inc. has volunteered to handle all the tax and accounting chores for the newly formed non-profit.

"I can not tell you how honored I am to have the friends and support I do for this dream. The Pierce family means a lot to me, they are great folks and my wife has always been there with me for the past 25 years, that means the world. Linda Dannis, who is the mother of one of my best friends and crew member on our truck team Eric Reynolds, has been so great in helping me get to this point and her willingness to help us with the taxes and accounting is so appreciated" stated Rick.

With the new non-profit, this means that all the folks who donate and help this charity can now use it as a tax deduction. Rick has formed a Driver Member Program that will be out to all the drivers on the current mailing and e-mail list by mid February. He also has a Member program for anyone who wants to support the charity. It is set up to where you can sign up to support monthly, quarterly or yearly. You set the amount and can spread it out over the entire year which will make it easier to help without coming up with that big amount at one time. A sponsor program for the event sponsors etc. will also be set up to be able to be done that way as well. If you want more information on this please call 407-497-0448 or e-mail Rick at rbmini68@aol.com.

A new web site and logo are being worked on right now and nominations for families to help are being accepted now at the same contact info above. This will allow Rick to be able to help others during the year as well if the need arises, but the main focus will still be the Charity Truckers 200 and maybe getting big enough to help more than one family each year.

The 4th Annual Charity Truckers 200 will be set for December 4th & 5th, 2009 at Orlando Speedworld. Some early announcements thus far, the DeSoto Champ karts will wrap up there season as part of the Charity Truckers 200 weekend racing both nights with 25-30 Karts expected. Also Rick is meeting with the Boy Scouts of America to set up a Camp out Jamboree and Pine Wood Derby Racing deal to be a part of the weekend as well. He is also working on a couple other things that could really boost the weekends events and attendance. Look for more announcements throughout the months to come. Rick plans to have info packs with final divisions etc.out to all drivers by July 15th.

If you want to a part of this event and the non-profit C.A.R.S. Racing for a Cause Inc. please call Rick or e-mail him. Info on the past three event can be seen at www.carsracermarketing.com.
